Harghita County, Romania, it acts as the centre of the
"
Salt-region" (hun:
Sóvidék), and is famous for its
porcelain and pottery. The commune comprises of 5 villages:
- Atia/Atyha
- Calonda/Kalonda
- Corund/Korond
- Fântâna
Brazilor/Fenyőkút
- Valea lui Pavel/Pálpataka
Demographics
The commune has an absolute Székely
(Hungarian) majority. According to the 2002 census it has a population
of 6,180 of which 95.4% or 5,896 are Hungarian.
